Bizarre climate tragedy hits Michigan: Winters are simultaneously getting shorter AND longer

Climate change is a serious and immediate threat to Michigan’s way of life and our economy.

Long-term records show that Michigan’s climate has changed markedly during recent decades. Springtime storms are more frequent and intense; summers are hotter and drier; winters are shorter; our lakes and streams are warmer.

Something strange has happened to Michigan weather, and it isn't a product of global warning. If winters in Michigan were not already long enough, they seem to have further lengthened the past few years. Not only is the cold weather painfully lingering, but the winds in this state have unpleasantly increased.
