they especially like to show water vapour during sunset, when it appears like black smoke. Somehow people associate black smoke with heat, so they accept the idea that it's causing warming.

The actual science (sun rays being reflected by CO2) is never presented to the mainstream audience, instead they're given oversimplified explanations such as fires and hot exhaust causing warming.
