Investor's Business Daily -- Not Too Late To Kill 'Cap-And-Tax' Bill
Perhaps the most destructive legislation in our country's history will, as soon as this week, be voted on in the House of Representatives: the Waxman-Markey tax bill in the guise of addressing climate change.Democrats' Big Green Scam
It will have adverse and lingering consequences for every American. It will raise the cost of electricity in our homes, the fuel for our cars and the energy that produces our manufacturing jobs, with little or no environmental benefit.
Further, independent experts estimate that it will cost Americans more than $2 trillion in just over eight years.
Democrats will apparently move forward with their enormous tax-and-spend bill known as Waxman-Markey this week and it's all concealed in a cloak of green political correctness. The real purpose of the plan is to dramatically enhance the power of Washington politicians by giving them control over vast swaths of the U.S. economy. What Do You Get from the Obama Energy Tax? - Chris Horner - Planet Gore on National Review Online
I'll have more soon on CBO's craven pandering to Congress, having gotten the message when, e.g., Sen. Chris Dodd (D., Conn.) dismissed their unique advisory role. He who pays the piper calls the tune and all that — and soon enough, CBO fell in line with some fairly absurd claims about how saddling our economy with an energy-rationing scheme and the biggest tax increase in history will . . . why, it won't hurt at all!
What makes that even more strange is that, as candidate Obama admitted and, e.g., Vattenfall CEO Lars Joseffson whispered to the Washington Post, raising the price of energy is "the intent of the whole exercise" of cap-and-trade. As Joseffson asked: If you don't do that, what's the point?

We can't afford to live in the abstract long-term, right now American can't be burdened with more taxes. Especially after the unpopular ( see polls http://www.newsy.com/videos/tale_of_two_polls) stimulus package which gave our money to failing and corrupt industries. This is a loser bill.
