Green and Armstrong question whether the MIT researchers are really concerned with 'global climate change'. "They seem to be intent on supporting the global warming theory with no attention being given to the mounting evidence that there is no scientific support for the forecast that global warming will occur, nor even the acknowledgement that the Earth has cooled in the past decade as CO2 has continued to rise," said Armstrong.Hyderabad Youth Summit on Climate Change June 20,21 '09 - Home
ICSC Director Dr. Jay Lehr challenges MIT Joint Program study authors to “provide the full list of variables included in their models along with the percentage of those variables for which they have no real data and so must insert guessed numbers into their equations.
“If this information was made available to the public, the fear mongering generated by these models, and perhaps the funding supporting this misguided approach to climate forecasting, could, or at least should, quickly evaporate,” concludes Lehr.
The conference will also try to bring together different perspectives on climate change ranging from that of a farmer to a philosopher. These experiences will prove vital in understanding the problem better and arriving at solutions that are holistic and uphold the principle of equity.Maybe it won't snow: Brita Climate [Scam] Ride 2009 : TreeHugger
Here's a very cool and creative idea. A rolling climate briefing that take its participants 300 miles to D.C. to meet with their Congressional representatives. Brita is sponsoring the bike tour, which goes from September 26–30th.Just a coincidence, I'm sure: Note that sponsor Brita happens to sell "solutions" for people who avoid bottled water:
The riders will travel 300 miles from New York City to Washington D.C. in five days, departing from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan and then through New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Maryland. Along for the ride will be climate experts who "will educate and inspire Climate Riders about the science, the policies and the solutions to the climate crisis."
Expected guests include Josh Dorfman (a.k.a the Lazy Environmentalist), big mountain free skier Alison Gannett, and the Ambassador of Denmark. The next phase of the Kyoto Protocol will be negotiated in Copenhagen in December. Three riders will be selected to attend the meeting.
The organizers ask that participants bring no bottled water on Climate Ride and that they expect all 200 riders to meet with their members of Congress in bike helmets and shorts!
