Biaswire: Dem pols don’t get money for climate? « Green Hell Blog
Gee… I wonder how much Al Gore, his partners at Kleiner-Perkins and Generation Investment Management, Goldman Sachs and other Wall Street firms, General Electric and all the USCAP companies, the wind, solar and biofuels industries, and all the other climate/energy rentseekers have “poured” into the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee — or is that not worth reporting, Greenwire?
The Reference Frame: Pachauri against CO2 targets, tariffs
This coherent attitude of India and other poor countries means that the CO2 targets become virtually impossible. Of course, Pachauri is a hardcore left-wing activist and Indian nationalist and there are many people who would be ready to claim that the CO2 produced in India is innocent while the CO2 produced in [America?] is deadly - because wealth redistribution has been one of the main hidden goals behind the CO2 agenda, anyway. But I guess that these nutcases don't have a majority in the U.S. Senate and other key bodies yet. ;-)
Climate Observations: Sea Level Data In Monthly Format
Following the significant increase from 1998 to 2002, the Pacific Ocean Sea Level, Figure 7, has been relatively flat since 2002. The rise in Pacific Sea Level slowed after 2002, and Pacific Sea Level has declined since 2006.
Trading Places: IPCC Boss Slams U.S. Plan for Carbon Tariffs - Environmental Capital - WSJ
Whatever the merits of Mr. Pachauri’s argument, it leaves unanswered two big questions: How will the U.S. Congress summon the political will to take unilateral action on climate change when the world’s biggest emitter—and a major trade partner—refuses to do so?

And in the absence of some sort of carbon tariffs, how can the U.S. be sure impending climate legislation won’t amount to just squeezing the bubble? That is, if the U.S. opts for limits on greenhouse-gas emissions while China, India and other developing countries don’t, how to make sure that jobs—and emissions—don’t flee for balmier shores?

CO2 equals prosperity, to tax CO2 is to redistribute wealth
