Canola optimism could be chilled by frost
Canola yields are expected to be in the 10-million-tonne range this season, barring a crippling summer frost, according to a local agriculture analyst.

"I'm sticking to that 9.75 (million tonne) estimate today unless we get a frost. A frost within the next three weeks will be absolutely disastrous," said Larry Weber of Weber Commodities Ltd.

The canola crop remains two to three weeks behind in development due to cool weather earlier this season, he said. If a frost occurs within the next few weeks, it would likely damage canola that is still in the early stages of growth.
Kansas: Manhattan posts record low of 54
Earth may be experiencing global warming, but — for today, at least — Manhattan's climate is headed in the other direction.

Manhattan posted a record low temperature of 54 degrees early this morning, breaking a 44-year-old record for the day, according to a report by the Weather Data Library at K-State's Department of Agronomy. The previous low of 56 degrees for July 29 was set in 1965.
Ben Stein, The American Spectator : The Oil Shortage Hoax
This belief -- that we faced an impending end of the supply of oil -- was a huge part of the motivation to turn to "green power" sources like wind and solar, to look for ways, even quite radical ways, to control energy use. This totally fraudulent "fact" of rapidly depleting oil resources helped Mr. Barack Obama get elected and is now helping him get his radical cap and trade and energy control bill through Congress. This bill, largely turning U.S. energy production and use upside down and saddling the nation with innumerable regulations -- down to small details like having federal regulators mark up or down every home up for resale based on every usage -- was based upon a fraud.

Now what? Will someone wake the heck up and say that Mr. Obama is putting through his massive agenda of control in the energy sector based on a hoax? Will Mr. Obama say he's re-thinking the whole scheme?
When it comes to energy and health care, less is more.
Recently Barack Obama attacked Republicans in congress because both his Cap and Trade scam and his national health care scheme are drifting into shallow water and are in danger of breaking up on a rocky legislative beach.
