Caterpillar CEO Jim Owens: Digging A Cap-And-Trade Hole For America -- Opinion Central -- GOPUSA
Owens' flip-flop serves as a case study of the ignorance and arrogance that plagues many CEOs. Too many chief executives exaggerate their political influence only to discover that the "seat at the table" rationale for supporting regulation greatly overstates their ability to steer it.

CEOs such as Owens fail to comprehend the nature and motivations of left-wing politicians and their advocacy group allies. Although Owens may understand how to manage the complexities of a multinational heavy equipment company, when it comes to public policy, he turns into a useful idiot for the liberal agenda.
Canadian Blue Lemons: Canaries in the Coal Mine or Bats in the Belfry?
...They're very creative, they've invented a net that traps the small beasties but lets the big ones go free. But the problem is, that we have had the same gradual change in climate that we have had for thousands of years. We haven't had any more global warming than normal. The Alarmists are talking about things maybe occuring over the NEXT 100 years.

If there isn't any warming, then what can they measure. Can they invent something else that can describe how these little monsters were affected with open waters in the arctic in the 50s?
The Chilling Effect | cooling heated rhetoric on global warming » EPA: Call In The Clowns, And Lawyers
But one problem highlighted in this report is that “Tort lawsuits will interfere with EPA’s ability to balance the legislative factors and craft appropriate Clean Air Act regulations for GHGs.” That’s lawyer speak for: The trial sharks will come swimming like we dumped a ton of chum into the policy ocean.

We’ll put it bluntly: These activists are contemptuous of the people employed at Chevron. If 1,000 people lose their jobs, they view it as a small price for driving the energy sector out of the Bay Area and California.

Seems to me that Chevron is trying to play on my sympathy over 1000 construction workers who didn't get a job. While I have been speaking out at every opportunity, pointing out that this whole global warming scare is a big con job, listening as conservative radio is compromised on the issue with FYPower ad buys (from gov agencies which Chevron was wining and dining in exotic locals), Chevron has been indulging and pandering to the crooks and crazies.

Chevron should have been fighting this head on the entire time, with corporate ad buys featuring the truth. How easy it would have been for Chevron to expose Al Gore's ties to Armand Hammer's Occidental Oil. How easy it would have been for Chevron to point out that Jupiter, Mars, Neptune, and Pluto were warming in step with the Earth, on national TV.
But nope they left us hanging.
They didn't point out that no new refinery has been built in the USA since the 70's because they wanted to make their Richmond refinery into a mini regional monopoly.

So now I'm supposed to cry the crocodile tears when their operation is threatened?

Where were they when the Bay Area became totally consumed by Democrat and Communist politicians? What money did they put in the state GOP coffers? Where are they now as Chuck Devore seeks to unseat the unhinged Barbara Boxer?

I have zero sympathy for a corporation which grabs ankle and bends over, saying give it too me gentle as psychotics take over the state EPA, PUC, and CARB, driving good people out of the State with draconian regulations.
Chevron did worse then sit on the sideline, they tossed gas on the fire metaphorically, with their mawkish Human Energy ad buy.
I can't bring myself to watch the TV because of these sickening suckups.

Think about how many millions of Californians are out of work due to the global warming solutions act, then weigh that against Chevron's 1k temporary positions lost in Richmond.

Boo fricken hoo.

some weeks ago i saw a Chevron ad on the web that actually encouraged to "drive less". It seems they are willing to commit economic suicide just to comply with green political correctness.
What happened to yesterday's slogans such as "do more" "be active" "just do it" etc.??? No more! now it's all going boring greeeeeeeen
