CFLs and governance « Climate Sanity
Those supporting a government ban on incandescent lights do so with an almost religious zealotry. They tout the advantages of CFL and downplay the disadvantages. If they are so zealous and willing to go to such lengths for something as simple as taking away people’s choice of light bulb, how far will they go for more weightier issues?

We see a much more profound version of the same attitude in the larger issue of global warming, where obvious flaws in the evidence supporting the global warming theory are denied beyond reason for some misguided vision of greater good.
CNSNews.com - The Light Bulb Liars
What if in 2025 a husband and wife decide they want to use old-fashioned incandescent bulbs in the sanctuary of their home? Will the light-bulb left defend their right to privacy and freedom of choice?

Don’t count on it. Many Americans may not know it yet, but the federal government has already effectively banned the type of light bulb most of us use today.
Obama broadens push for climate change pact - [More Obama cheerleading from your mainstream media]

L'AQUILA, Italy – Rallying rich and developing nations alike, President Barack Obama wants the world's top polluters to keep driving toward a deal to halt global warming.

Nearing six months on the job, Obama has some momentum: a new agreement among developed and emerging nations to cap rising global temperatures, plus good will from his peers for repositioning the U.S. as an aggressive player in the debate.
Environmentalism as a mental illness « Guy White: Making Sense On Race
I was just watching CNN and they profiled a Swedish woman who has no indoor heating – in freezing Sweden of all places!

To take your ideology to such an extreme is a mental illness. Some people feel the need to be part of an extemist religious sect, but because they were raised in a secular leftist family cannot even consider becoming a “Jesus freak” who screams on a busy street that we must repent because the end is near.
...
This need to be part of an extremist ideology is insane. Rather than glorifying these ” global warming freaks” across the world, we should feel bad for them, the same way we would feel bad for people with Autism or mental retardation.

In the CNN clip, they actually say that she has to constantly keep moving, even during their interview because it’s cold.

If that kind of obsessive display of political extremism isn’t a clear sign of abnormality, I don’t know what is.
