Mount Rushmore visitor Jesse Stay captured these photos as a dozen Greenpeace protestors were led away in handcuffs. Their t-shirts and climbing gear made it easy for authorities to identify who was involved.

The group was hoping to send a message to world leaders about global warming. And just hours later, they had their first federal court appearance.
Eleven of pleaded not guilty to trespassing. The twelfth person was released without being charged.

So how’s that going?
“Great” says Mr. Pickens, who told the Dallas Morning News over the weekend that he had “gotten everything we went after.”
Others are less convinced, noting the U.S. is still importing around 60% of its oil and that Mr. Pickens’ own wind farm project in Texas has been pushed back and scaled down.
Talk about creating chaos in the world trading system!
