[It's a religion, all right]: To Hell With The Consequences

Wait a minute, it takes a lot of land to raise beef naturally yet it’s greener. I wonder how much land it would take to free roam all the cows in production. Hmm.

Apparently there were 1.37 billion cattle in the world in 2003 HERE. So we need about 4.11 billion acres of grassland to graze them all which converts to about 6.4 million square miles. Not too bad except the United States is 3.7 million square miles. Doh!

Remember how "reduce our dependence on foreign oil" turned out not to mean in any way shape or form what it connoted — producing more domestic oil — and wasn't about "foreign oil" at all? Instead, that whole "foreign" thing was thrown in as a presumably poll-tested distraction? Well, any time they're pressed on the economic facts, Greens turn out that the mantra of "green jobs" in similar fashion — in this case, with the extra word being "jobs." But this isn't about the jobs — it's the green agenda wrapped up in something that — who knows? — just might fool or soothe enough voters to get passed into law.

The good news: When an opposing movement can't answer a simple question without playing games, you know you might be on the right side of the issue, even if you know nothing else.
