Washington, D.C.--Democrats in Congress and President Obama forced swift action on a massive bill to dramatically increase energy costs in the face of what they called an “escalating skepticism crisis” regarding theories that claim human emissions are making the earth warmer.

“In Europe, Japan, and Australia, there is increasing doubt that drastic cuts in energy use are warranted, as the evidence of human-caused global warming proves lacking,” said Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi. “If we don’t enact draconian policies now, this window of misinformation might be closed forever.”

A giant submerged curtain anchored under the Golden Gate Bridge that rises in storms to hold back big waves. Huge levees with pumps run by tidal power. Vast networks of new wetlands from Silicon Valley to San Francisco, some created on old parking lots and bay front warehouse sites.

Science fiction? Maybe. Or perhaps San Francisco Bay in 100 years.

On Tuesday, the ideas were among six winners in the "Rising Tides" contest, a design competition to engineer possible solutions for San Francisco Bay in the next century as its waters are predicted to rise as much as 4 1/2 feet due to global warming.

Thankfully, some actual scientists have finally begun doing actual science, rather than political hackery in pursuit of government funding. Maybe the best way to prevent anthropogenic global warming is to destroy the only environment where it takes place — in the flawed models used by hysterics.

But of course, like all of the rest of Denier “science”, none of them ever thinks through their claims. These fables are not put forward as actual legitimate hypotheses. That they are mind bogglingly stupid is of no consequence.

The Denier’s purpose has been achieved as long as a Robert Carter or Philip Stott will repeat the fable, a George Will or Christopher Booker who will publish the stupidities in the Financial Post or The Australian, and an Anthony Watts or Steven Milloy will stick it on their web site.

Then legions of gullible rubes are told that they are critical thinking “skeptics” if they believe it without seeing any evidence or thinking logically. Their mindless faith does not merely move mountains, it makes mountains disappear entirely and flattens planets.
