According to today's Financial Times, 32 warships and submarines are under construction in Indian shipyards. Seventy-five more, including aircraft carriers, destroyers, frigates and amphibious vessels, are planned to be built over the next 10 years.
China currently has three times the number of naval warships that India has, and five times the number of personnel.
But India is on the move.
Simon Douglas, director of AA Insurance, said insurers are beginning to reflect concerns about climate change in their pricing. 'The industry is expecting rising cost and frequency of claims for flooding, subsidence and storm damage,' he said.
