Record cold in Obama's "home" state of Illinois - Galesburg, IL
July 2009 continues to feel more like autumn than summer, as Galesburg’s record low temperature today has already been shattered.

The previous record low for July 20 was 53, set in 1971. Early this morning, the mercury dropped to 48 degrees.

“In fact, several locations in central Illinois are on pace (through July 19) for being in the top 3 coolest Julys on record. Much of the area is running a 4 to 6 degree deficit for the month so far. Highs across central Illinois were only in the upper 60s and lower 70s on July 1, 4, 17, 18 and 19.”

The low this morning was 59 degrees, breaking the 64 degrees posted in 2004. Nearly every city in central Alabama had a record low, according to the Weather Service. Pinson and Anniston both saw 55 degrees, breaking records from 1962 and 1947, respectively.

Maher was clearly shocked that the Governor wouldn't go along and endorse cap-and-trade. Maher was exasperated, and asked, "But isn't it the Democrat approach?"
