Public Service Commission Chairman Robert M. Clayton III said he feared that Missouri’s heavily coal-dependent electric customers will see a sharp spike in rates if federal climate legislation limiting carbon emissions becomes law. That makes it even more important for Missourians to reduce their collective energy use, he said.
"Markey votes with majority" was the headline in the AP climate bill article in the June 27 Coloradoan. Rep. Betsy Markey stated she studied the bill. I wondered how she managed to peruse the 1,300 pages of the bill, when 300 pages were not even available to the Congress until the wee hours of Friday morning. The Office Of Tony Blair: [He's got his own climate swindle promotion web page!]

Rep. Markey also stated she "took ... time to hear from constituents." My attempts to reach her offices in both Fort Collins and Washington, D.C., before the vote were met with "circuits busy" or "mailbox full" messages.
I'm sure our Colorado ranchers are overjoyed that Markey made sure their cattle "burps" were not going to be counted as regulated emissions in this cockeyed "energy" legislation based on unsupported theory that global warming is man-made. And, even more absurd, that carbon dioxide (which every living person on Earth produces when they breathe) can be limited mandatorily.
"On the contrary, with the necessary decisions now, there is a credible, practical, realistic as well as radical way to act. We can set the world on a new path to a low carbon future; the Major Economies Forum is able to put in place a framework for a successful global accord in Copenhagen in December."
