Mr Tuckey says Mr Turnbull's views are at odds with the Coalition party room decision to oppose the legislation.

"Malcolm Turnbull embarrassed me," he said.

Taiwan climate [fraud] bill aims for end-2009 vote

TAIPEI, July 21 (Reuters) - Legislators in Taiwan aim to pass an ambitious bill that would return the island's greenhouse gas emissions to pre-2000 levels by making factories clean up or pay, officials said on Tuesday.

The Greenhouse Reduction Act, which stalled after being introduced in parliament in February last year because of industry opposition, passed the first round of voting in December and is seen moving toward a final vote as early as late 2009.

There is no convincing scientific evidence that human release of carbon dioxide, methane, or other greenhouse gasses is causing or will, in the foreseeable future, cause catastrophic heating of the Earth's atmosphere and disruption of the Earth's climate. Moreover, there is substantial scientific evidence that increases in atmospheric carbon dioxide produce many beneficial effects upon the natural plant and animal environments of the Earth.
