Warming Caused by Soot, Not CO2 | The Resilient Earth
Once again we see the shaky ground that climate models are built on. Once again a new paper in a peer reviewed journal has brought to light significant flaws in the ways models are configured—forced to match known historical results even when erroneous values are used for fundamental parameters. I have said many times that, with enough tweaking, a model can be made to fit any set of reference data—but such bogus validation does not mean the model will accurately predict the future. The last few months have brought an avalanche of climate data, culminating with the administration's analysis that the effects of global warming are already upon us and a recent MIT study that found the planet is warming twice as fast as previously thought.
Rajendra Pachauri, the head of the Nobel-Prize winning Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, said: "If there's no action before 2012, that's too late. What we do in the next two to three years will determine our future."
He made this comment two years ago.
Interesting… since the greens don’t think that modern agriculture (cotton and wool) or the chemical and petroleum industries (synthetic fibers) are sustainable, what exactly will “sustainable” apparel consist of?
Last year, former Wal-Mart CEO Lee Scott told a Wall Street Journal conference audience that the company didn’t have any scientists and didn’t know anything about science — yet Wal-Mart will now start harassing suppliers over, and deceiving customers with the dubious concept of “sustainability.”
