Crude oil is still falling, slipping below $59 a barrel early Monday and briefly touching a two-month low.

The demand picture is also bearish, with hints that the economic recovery will be protracted and painful. U.S. Treasury Secretary Timothy Geithner Monday underscored the “acute challenges” still facing the U.S., the world’s biggest oil consumer.
