There are few things as satisfying as the look of shock, dismay and ultimately panic on the face of a Congressman (mostly Democrat with a smattering of RINOs) when they realize the constituents they once considered stupid, passive sheep turn what was supposed to be a quiet session of condescending bullshit into the storming of the Bastille.

And it is happening with increasing frequency and intensifying hostility.

These people have taken the time to study the administration’s agenda; in many cases they are more familiar with the details of the Stimulus Package, the Cap & Trade bill and the Obamacare proposal than most members of Congress and a great many of them took the time and effort to communicate to you in excruciating detail why each of these things is utterly toxic to this nation.

Screaming constituents, protesters dragged out by the cops, congressmen fearful for their safety — welcome to the new town-hall-style meeting, the once-staid forum that is rapidly turning into a house of horrors for members of Congress.

On the eve of the August recess, members are reporting meetings that have gone terribly awry, marked by angry, sign-carrying mobs and disruptive behavior. In at least one case, a congressman has stopped holding town hall events because the situation has spiraled so far out of control.

Representative Allen Boyd (D-Fla.) spoke at the Southern Peanut Grower Conference in Panama City on July 13th and commented on the energy crisis and what needs to be done about it.
