Gene Green Town Hall Meeting : Lone Star Times
Rep. Gene Green (D-29) had to struggle to keep his town meeting in order last night. There was a great turnout and angry constituents let Mr. Green know that they were not happy with his votes on Cap/Trade and healthcare, or his lack of support for auditing the Federal Reserve. But unlike the town hall meetings that have made the news lately, Rep. Green did not lose control of his meeting. An early night with a good ream brings tears to the eye | The Australian
I’ve known Rep. Green for over 30 years and he thrives on meetings like this. He should give a class to his peers on how to handle angry constituents. First, select a small room, not a huge auditorium. Not only does it create a more intimate setting, it limits the number of angry people on hand. Second, turn off the air conditioning. Third, be firm but allow people to vent a little. Rep. Green learned an awful lot at those union hall meetings years ago.
But if you can read a huge volume without having a clue what it means, then look for the dot point that sets out the cost because you will soon be paying it.Twitter / Cameron Dueck [hoping to get through the Northwest Passage]
Which is why we should be afraid of the white paper on cutting greenhouse gas that was released last year to thundering incomprehension and last week's health report that had more ideas than a Mensa meeting but only one prescription: we should pay more for health care.
Both these documents are very long (not good) and they are both hard to follow (ominous indeed).
But the real problem is that whatever we end up with will not be what anybody intended.
