The Met Office: enemies of the people « The Landed Underclass
I can see no purpose whatsoever in continuing to pay the Met Office to sack everyone who won’t shout about global warming (when this happened twenty-odd years ago I was convinced that the whole thing was nothing to do with science, and everything to do with geopolitics, and have not changed this view since), to lie about the weather in the hope of increasing tourist revenue, and to bang on about this tired old twentieth-century scare-story for the sake of its political masters.
Warning Signs: The Perfect Storm
The country is watching a “Cap-and-Trade” bill pass through Congress that everyone, including its authors, agrees is a massive tax on the use of electricity, one that will drive up the cost of electricity to every American and all business and industry in America. It is based on the assertion that “greenhouse gases” must be reduced to avoid “global warming”, but there is no global warming and greenhouse gases such as carbon dioxide play no role in climate change.
You cannot create wealth by destroying it | The Real Revo
Think about it. If it grew the economy to destroy serviceable goods and buy replacements for people with tax dollars, we could destroy our way to great wealth. It is an absurd concept on its face. You cannot stimulate the economy or create economic growth by destroying serviceable products with remaining marginal utility and subsidizing their replacement. The Cash for Clunkers program is being called successful and maybe it its…. as long as the measure of success isn’t diminished by the damage it does to the economy.
