In his website blog Moby -- a committed vegan -- said he wanted to address the fact that nearly a quarter of greenhouse gas emissions is the result of rearing animals for human consumption.

He answered honestly, basically saying that getting people to drive a hybrid car isn't that difficult. Getting people to give up animal products is almost impossible. I appreciated his honesty.

This is all sensible advice, especially given there's simply no need to exaggerate. The facts are scary enough, without having to resort to artificially magnifying them. On July 15th, Greenpeace put out a press release saying the arctic ice caps would melt by 2030, a claim that Leipold now admits is false. Rather than own up, and say it was a mistake and he'd never let it happen again, he says Greenpeace is "a pressure group" that has to "emotionalize issues, and we're not ashamed" of it.
This is horrible. Imagine if an oil company executive, or the head of the American Petroleum Institute made the same concession.
