The Pope has claimed that atheism is responsible for the destruction of the environment. In a speech at the Vatican on Wednesday, Ratzinger said: “Is it not true that inconsiderate use of creation begins where God is marginalized or also where his existence is denied? If the human creature's relationship with the Creator weakens, matter is reduced to egoistic possession, man becomes the ‘final authority,’ and the objective of existence is reduced to a feverish race to possess the most possible.”

At a recent conference in Corvallis, 300 climate scientists from across the world gathered to discuss their latest findings.

Several things were notable. Not one of the attendees seemed to be a smoker. And not a single speaker expressed any doubt that man is now influencing the Earth's climate.

As one scientist said, "we've nailed that." They are moving on to the next questions — how different regions will be influenced by human kind.

The scientists at the Past Global Changes conference at Oregon State University are the ones who do the hard, dirty work of science.

These scientific experts have no doubt — drastic action is needed now or life on Earth will be harmed.

Strangely, none of the infamous "climate skeptics" showed up for this real scientific conference.
