The leaders, including former President Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore and Sen. Harry Reid, are meeting for the National Clean Energy Summit 2.0 at the Cox Pavilion Monday.
On her Facebook Notes page, Sarah Palin has linked to a \Heritage Foundation analysis of the cap and trade bill titled "The Economic Consequences of Waxman-Markey: An Analysis of the American Clean Energy and Security Act of 2009" and has excerpted the report's conclusion in her post.Doubting Clima-geddon « The Enterprise Blog
In the Herald column, I argue there are five perfectly good reasons to be skeptical about end-of-the-world climate science predictions, as well as all-encompassing legislation like Waxman-Markey, which attempts to bring Al Gore’s “wrenching transformation of society” to a lightbulb near you.People know politics when they see it
Among the reasons I offer are the fact that people have seen doomsayers come and go, while the Earth remains; people realize the paucity of climate information, and know we have barely an eye-blink of history to go by, which isn’t a lot to stand on while reworking humanity; people know that correlation is not evidence of causality, no matter how many times people stamp their feet and insist that it is; people instinctively distrust soothsayers; and people know politicking when they see it.
In summary, contrary to Reid's assumption that anyone who might disagree with him about climate change is either genetically, mentally, economically, or morally defective, there are ample reasons to doubt the claims of climate alarmists such as Al Gore, James Hansen or the good professor himself.
