Rep. Eric Massa (D-NY) on his vote against the cap and trade swindle
For example, when Congress was debating the Cap and Trade bill, I was called in to meet with President Obama the night before the vote. He wanted my vote, but I refused because I had concerns with the bill and because constituent response was overwhelmingly against it. Contrary to what some have said, this was not a “giveaway” vote, but rather one of the closest and hardest fought votes in Congress thus far.
