29% Confident That Congress Knows What It’s Doing on Economy - Rasmussen Reports™
Two-out-of-three American voters (67%) lack confidence that Congress knows what it’s doing when it comes to the economy.
...
Just 25% of all voters believe that members of Congress understand legislation before they vote on it.
Climate [hoax] legislation draws its friends and foes: Alaska
More than 150 people attended the rally at the Dena'ina Convention Center. Many in the room sported bright yellow T-shirts that said "I'm an energy citizen" that were offered for free just outside the room.

Lavin is one of several scheduled to speak during a roundtable discussion Wednesday night about climate change consequences in Alaska and the climate bill. The roundtable starts at 6 p.m. at the University of Alaska's Lew Haines Memorial Room. Like the rally, it is also part of a national tour, this one sponsored by the Al Gore-founded Alliance for Climate Protection.
The American Spectator : The Democrats' Cap and Traitors
According to an analysis by National Journal's Ronald Brownstein, 59 percent of Democrats representing districts carried by John McCain in the 2008 presidential election defied both President Obama and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi by voting no.

That explains some of the Democratic opposition in the Senate, where about 15 Democrats are not doing Harry Reid's bidding.
Indec raises stright carbon tax issue
So why not a straight carbon tax? The gimmickry of cap n trade reminds of Madov and Ponzi schemes. I spoke with a prominent expert at Georgia Tech several years ago and he said he could not document real emissions reductions from any trading programs he has audited. I found the same results.

But a straight carbon tax would take effect now, during a deep Recession and cripple the economy more and for years to come. Waxman Markey gave away nearly all of the credits to industry, muting real cost impacts for several year, until we are out of the Recession. While my heart strings pull for a carbon tax now, I know it makes no political sense. I do not even think Waxman Markey will be strengthened
