Cap-And-Trade Opponents Hold Rally In Philadelphia - The Philadelphia Bulletin
“This country is heading in the wrong direction,” Mr. Lonegan said. “And that’s why we’re out here today in the rain.” He was referring to the precipitation as “uncontrollable climate change” that many people obviously wanted to brave because they disagreed with Mr. Obama’s policies so adamantly.

He's almost certainly irretrievably lost the fiscal issue, and budget arguments will reassert themselves after the glow fades from his talk. On both health care and cap and trade, he loses as soon as the discussion goes from general (reform) to specific (tax and regulate).
Whoops, We Were Wrong About Obama - The Philadelphia Bulletin
Candidate Obama did endorse federal "cap-and-trade" legislation under which, in his words, "the price of electricity will necessarily skyrocket." Cap-and-trade was little discussed in the general campaign, when Obama pledged not to raise taxes on anyone making under $250,000 a year (a pledge "cap-and-trade" would violate).

The troubles extend to corn and soybean growers as well, who are seeing a double-whammy of low commodity prices and cool, dry weather that has pushed harvests back several weeks from the 30-year-average, putting crops at risk of frost damage, according to Mike Ballweg, a UW-Extension agricultural agent.

"Financially, 2009 is one of the toughest years we've seen in agriculture in the last decade," Ballweg said.
