Hot Air » Blog Archive » Murkowski to attempt to block EPA from regulating carbon
Still, it seems like a long shot. Many of the Democrats want CO2 regulated, and the EPA would almost certainly get the job if Congress passed cap-and-trade anyway. With the Obama administration already floundering, Democrats may not want to make Barack Obama any weaker. And EPA regulation could get some of them off the hook with voters, although once the economies of those regions begin to suffer, that will almost certainly not be the case.

Call your Senators and tell them to support the Murkowski amendment once it’s offered.
Domestic Politics Are the Key to Climate Change, Except When They’re Not - Environmental Capital - WSJ
Take this typical pronouncement:
“We have to take up bold new responsibilities that we have evaded so far. But if we want durable political consensus, then it has to be rooted in domestic legislation and not in an international agreement.”
Oh, wait. That’s not President Obama. That’s India’s environment minister Jairam Ramesh.
Hollywood follows 'fad' of global warming (OneNewsNow.com)
[Ian Plimer] "Hollywood is following the fads and the fashions. Hollywood often puts out films that frighten us witless," he contends. "And now they are following an issue that frightens us witless. This issue, of course, they cannot use any science to back this up. But Hollywood can see that this is a great sensational event they can get involved in, and they are."
C3: Do Reductions of Human CO2 Emissions Have Any Impact On Atmospheric CO2 Levels? Measurements Are Indicating 'No'
Read here. Our global civilization is conducting an unprecedented, unplanned experiment (major global recession) in reducing human CO2 emissions, and it's not having much impact on CO2 levels in the atmosphere. During 2008, growth of CO2 emissions was slashed by half. For 2009, emissions will be reduced by a considerable 2.5%. Yet, as the below graph shows, atmospheric CO2 levels keep on growing at the same pace. As many expert skeptic scientists have suggested, human CO2 emissions are a hair follicle on an elephant's rear-end. That elephant is nature and the natural forces that drive not only CO2 atmospheric levels but the entire climate.
