Moonbattery: Prince Charles Wants Everybody Else to Give Up Their Cars
This is why I just cannot take Global Warming seriously. Prince Charles, Al Gore, Robert F. Kennedy, Arianna Huffington, Thomas Friedman and all the other members of the Carbon Cult prodigiously enjoy all the luxuries of hydrocarbon consumption... gas-guzzling cars, private jets, gigantic homes, world travel ... but seek to deny any measure of those benefits to the working classes. It's why I suspect that the point of Global Warming hysteria isn't so much to "save the Earth" as it is to get all the unwashed masses off the freeways, off the airplanes, and off the beaches so the wealthy can have them all to themselves, while getting even richer through the Enron-scheme of selling worthless carbon credits for huge amounts of government-mandated money.
China's Hu Jintao pledges to "cut" carbon dioxide emissions at UN summit - Telegraph
"We will endeavour to cut carbon dioxide emissions per unit of GDP by a notable margin by 2020 from the 2005 level," Mr Hu told the special summit on climate change.
California plans to levy greenhouse gas [swindle] fees
Last year the Bay Area Air Quality Management District voted to charge about 2,500 businesses for emitting greenhouse gases like carbon dioxide. The fee, which currently amounts to 4.5 cents per metric ton of greenhouse gases, is widely seen as too small in most cases to deter the discharge of carbon dioxide and other gases. Instead, the fees were set to generate money for further study.

The largest emitters - refineries, power plants and cement factories, for example - must pay hundreds of thousands of dollars each year. Other businesses - including auto shops, coffee roasters and restaurants - pay $1 or $2 per year.
Hot Air » Blog Archive » Obama Cabinet official: Americans are children …
This is nothing more than a slightly more honest look at the attitude of the Left when it comes to governance. It’s all about paternalism and condescension, and the belief that a group of elites should be appointed to rule over the unwashed and unschooled masses for their own good. That has never been consonant with the American experience, which allows the individual to make his own choices and live with the consequences. Chu gives us a good look at the liberal soul, and most Americans will not like what they see.
