Rain boosts Melbourne's reservoirs
Meanwhile, the weekend's cold snap delivered up to half a metre of snow to the Victorian Alps, prompting some resorts to extend their ski season for another week.Remarkable climate realism from Chris Slotten, "the Environmental Maniac"
Although the official season ended on the weekend, Mt Buller and Falls Creek resorts announced they would extend their seasons due to "massive" weekend falls.
In science, ‘not understood’ means the outcome differs from the theory. The challenge is compounded by the fact that 2008 was one of the coldest year of the decade, the current year is colder and even the New York Times recently published an article confirming that there’s no warming, in fact, there may be cooling.Phoenix Living Green Examiner
There is an attempt to re-label Global Warming to Climate Change. The U.N. Report is called Climate Change, but the contents focus on global warming. There was an attempt to explain the colder winters and the new snow pack on the glaciers as, ‘Global Warming means the summers get warmer and the winters get cooler.’ Unfortunately, this summer is disproving that theory.
The scientific models don’t project the current trends.
Chris Slotten, the Environmental Maniac, has always been “one of those”. In school he was a “mentally gifted minor”. At U.C. Irvine in 1972, he built a car that met 1986 air pollution requirements because “it couldn’t be done”. He created the best multi-family recycling program in California in 1994 saving 50,000 trees. In 2007 he’s reduced the air conditioning costs on his house by 50% saving the energy equivalent of four barrels of oil.Capitol Hill -- trading one threat to America for another -- but ending up with both?
Will the politically radioactive "Cap and Trade" and "Health Care" bills be rammed through and take effect without a full stand-alone up, or down vote by your elected legislators whom you send to Washington to represent you? It is not beyond the realm of possibility.
...
President Obama apparently realizes that his "Cap and Trade" bill (see this column "The Death to America Act" — 6/29/09) is in deep, deep trouble, possibly dead on Capitol Hill.
