S.Korea not optimistic about Copenhagen meeting | Industry Summits | Reuters
It is true that China, India and newly industrializing nations have wide, different opinions, strongly requiring financial and technical support from the Annex I industrialised nations ... We see such demand reasonable," Lee said in an interview as part of the Reuters' Climate Change and Alternative Energy Summit.[From the comment section]: Market Confidence Low: Carbon Credits now worth 25 cents, were at $7 in 2008 « Watts Up With That?
"It is hard to be optimistic about the (Copenhagen) meeting ... and hard to see if the meeting will have a result."
[janama] We’ve had the same thing happen here in aussieland. Great Southern Plantations were a managed investment scheme dealing in tree plantations. In 2005 they were worth $5.70 a share, by may 2009 they had fallen to 10c. The company has now been wound up.Climate Feedback: Sunburnt Southern Hemisphere in 2095
so much for carbon credits.

[Bill Illis] It is strange that this market tanked just when Congress is (almost) ready to put a real value behind them.
I guess the market thinks the climate bill has no chance to pass now and there is already an oversupply of credits in the virtual market which existed without the climate bill.
They really have no value without a “price” put on CO2 emissions.
Global warming doesn’t just change the weather, it also affects the ozone layer. According to a detailed new modelling study, by 2095 the springtime UV index (UVI) could go up by as much as 20% on the southernmost section of the planet, as altered atmospheric circulation pushes more stratospheric ozone into the Northern Hemisphere.Sammy Wilson MP MLA » Blog Archive » Wilson: Government must be consistent in its approach to air travel
However another question has to be asked – where is the consistency? Labour rightly supported the expansion of Heathrow and it is important that we increase and improve our air links so that our economy can be the most competitive in the world.. However it is contradictory to make the case for this while at the same time calling for increased taxes on aviation which will not only harm business but also make it harder for all but the richest to travel by air.
The Government needs to be consistent in relation to air travel and further taxes on travel will not be welcomed by my constituents who will see through the attempt to be disguise them as green and see them as a further raid on their pockets.”
