US official: 'Sea change' in US on climate issues : US World
Geneva - A senior United States official said Wednesday that a "sea change" was taking place in public opinion on climate change among citizens in the world's largest economy and biggest emitter of pollutants. "We are beginning to see a sea change in the United States in attitudes towards the climate," Jane Lubchenco, an under secretary of commerce, told reporters in Geneva, where she was attending a UN climate conference."In many people's personal experiences things are different," she said, adding that this was driving the change, as increased floods and other events were causing Americans to rethink their opinions.
