What's Danish for Ad Hominem? - Chris Horner - Planet Gore on National Review Online
Seems that, after Danish think tank CEPOS heeded Obama's call just as the King Juan Carlos University team did, a leading Danish politician called to redirect some of the, er, windfall of subsidies toward different renewables, and "the government's ally, the Danish Peoples Party, welcomed the proposal, pointing out that the subsidies had cost residents and electric companies billions of kroner." The Danish authors also found that the turbines live remarkably shorter lives than previously thought, so in the absence of the massive subsidy required to keep the bubble full, Danish land-based wind should shortly be headed for phase-out. Good news for the birds, bats — and neighbors, incidentally...
Michelle Obama [takes another fossil-fueled hop across the pond]
COPENHAGEN — Michelle Obama's welcoming party was more like a stopover. She chatted with the ambassador, kissed Chicago Mayor Richard Daley on the cheek and gave her old friends quick hugs hello before climbing into the waiting SUV.
2008: Obama camp spies endgame in Oregon
Pitching his message to Oregon's environmentally-conscious voters, Obama called on the United States to "lead by example" on global warming, and develop new technologies at home which could be exported to developing countries.

"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.

"That's not leadership. That's not going to happen," he added.

The story didn't say so but possibly the SecGen was referring to Michelle and Barack taking separate jets to Copenhagen as they try and secure that critical deal.
