This report should end speculation that sub-national carbon offset projects can be used to reliably cut carbon emissions. The fundamental uncertainties at the core of sub-national REDD offsets are not ones that can be resolved with technical tinkering and quick fixes. They require a leap of faith. We simply shouldn't gamble with our climate.

Global warming is all politics
Isn't it amazing that numerous so-called scientists working for the United Nations' Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) have magically become a world-wide consensus on the effects of man-made global warming? Many scientists, so far, have gone on record opposing those IPCC conclusions as being a hoax and fraudulent. However, since the IPCC position is totally political and devoid of scientific peer review, world governments have been suckered into believing the hoax.

The Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change became a vast gravy train and the fraudulent use of statistics, as in the notorious hockeystick and most recently in the scandal of the Yamal tree rings, became the defining characteristic of its modus operandi.

As a consequence of this intellectual and institutional corruption, our Australian scientific community is tainted with a loss of reputation that will bedevil us for at least a generation. However, the most disreputable member of this unholy alliance is the so-called business community.
