[Climate czar Browner may not go to Copenhagen]
In a sign of how important a domestic bill is to the White House's efforts, Browner has no plans yet to attend the U.N. conference in Copenhagen — and she says she won't be going if the bill is still working its way through Congress.[Barbara Boxer may not go to Copenhagen]
"Obviously, we'd love to sign the bill" into law before then, Browner said. "I don't think that is going to happen."
Boxer said she also wants to go to Copenhagen, but she would cancel the trip if the climate bill were on the Senate floor.[Obama may not go to Copenhagen]
“Right now you’ve got a meeting that’s set up for a level not at the head of state,” Gibbs said on Air Force One as Obama traveled home from a brief trip to Copenhagen. “If it got switched, we would certainly look at coming.”
