President Obama threw his weight behind energy legislation after a fashion today in a speech at MIT, talking up the role of clean energy in transforming the economy and taking aim at opponents of congressional legislation. There is an Associated Press [AP] news article today by Dina Cappiello, Seth Borenstein and Kevin Freking titled “Poll: US belief in global warming is cooling”. In this article the reporters perpetuate the myth thatMarkey goes to Copenhagen [this weekend for climate hoax talks]
“Though there are exceptions, the vast majority of scientists agree that global warming is occurring and that the primary cause is a buildup of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere from the burning of fossil fuels, such as oil and coal.”
This is not true and is a case of the media seeking to make up news.
Representative Edward J. Markey of Massachusetts, a main author of the climate change bill the House passed this summer, announced today that he will go to Copenhagen this weekend for talks in advance of the major global summit in December.
"Markey will meet with other legislators from around the world as part of GLOBE International (Global Legislators Organization for a Balanced Environment) to discuss how other countries are progressing towards creating an effective and fair international climate agreement," his office said.
