2006 flashback: Because of his misguided belief in global warming fraud, alarmist Andrew Revkin suggests that coal and oil are Tools of Satan
Andrew Revkin is the chief environmental reporter for the Times, a true believer in the idea that humans are making the planet warmer. He also plays in an "acoustic-roots" band, "Uncle Wade," and even wrote an environmental protest ditty, "Liberated Carbon," which he recently performed during a talk at Bowdoin College in Maine.

In this retelling of the creation story, Satan offers coal and oil to humanity instead of an apple (environmentalism as religion, once again).

There’s also a war-for-oil line: "They sent an Army to the desert just to keep this country free...And to liberate some carbon, baby, for you and me."

Here’s a taste of "Liberated Carbon"'s lyrics, courtesy of a sympathetic environmentalist blogger who took them down at a performance:

"We yearned to burn more than dung and sticks.
Then Satan came along and said, 'Hey, try lighting this.'

by Andrew Revkin and Patrick Kinney @ EHS
Note that the video includes the lines:

"Satan's Black Label burns in my SUV" and "they say things are getting hotter, but hey, we've got AC".

By the way, how much carbon dioxide did Revkin liberate during his recent fossil-fueled trips to Istanbul and Portland?
