Closing out the day will be President Klaus who argues that the current approach to global climate change agreements is based on science that is far from settled, and that governments should be cautious in passing legislation that imposes significant costs on individuals and companies in the name of that science. Early in the afternoon, Representative Ed Markey (D-MA) will discuss the House bill he introduced with Henry Waxman. Following this several members of congress including Doc Hastings (R-WA), who is opposed to the bill and on the Senate side, Senator Inhofe (R-OK) will outline their views of the Boxer-Kerry Bill being debated there. Lunchtime speakers will be renowned scientists Dr. Fred Singer president of the Science & Environmental Policy Project and Dr. Joe Romm, Senior Fellow of the Center for American Policy, will present their views on the state of climate science today.Only one October was colder….

The average temperature at Wichita’s Mid-Continent Airport was 51.2 degrees, a substantial 7.4 degrees below normal. Only 1925, which had an average temperature of 49.0 degrees, was colder.
But 2009 still put up some remarkable statistics: 25 of 31 days recorded below normal readings, with 13 of those days at least 10 degrees below normal.
Temperatures there never get above freezing. Not that they aren't suppose to, but a weather station on top of the volcano shows that they still don't get above freezing.
