Editorial: Warming advocates engage in crusade, not science - EagleTribune.com, North Andover, MA
Until climate science extracts itself from political advocacy and returns to a pursuit of the truth for its own sake, no one can be sure of the accuracy of its claims.Climategate: George Monbiot's Lament
Such shaky science is no basis for decisions involving hundreds billions of dollars that will affect the lives of billions of people.
Even calling on CRU director Phil Jones to resign, as Monbiot does, will not suffice; nor will the resignation and/or firing of all the individuals who have been exposed as engaging in unethical practices. What has been initially culled from the vast cache of e-mails provides prima facie evidence of a concerted attempt by well-placed and fanatically biased "scientists" to cook the books on global warming statistics and prevent skeptical scientists (whom they viciously stigmatize with the "denier" label) from being published in professional journals. Moreover, as we've previously reported, the e-mails also provide evidence that the scientists in question discussed destroying their records and data to prevent its release under Freedom Of Information Act (FOIA) requests. In this, they very possibly ventured into criminal activity.YouTube - Global warming insanity: low emission sheep
This is for real folks, sheep burps are causing dangerous global warming and Aussie scientists are busy breeding a low-methane sheep to save us from climate change. No joke!Mechanical glitches plague offshore wind farm
The global warming cult is not based in reality.
Gearboxes in all 30 turbines had to be replaced in 2006 and 2007, but just a year later 20 were changed again with another 10 due for replacement in 2010.Global warming debate depends on scientific data and fearless review, not intellectual warfare -- dailypress.com

The company was unable to reveal the amount of money spent on fixing the turbines or the amount lost through the reduction in energy.
Yet, as tempting as it might be to ignore this glimpse into these private communications as academic infighting or inter-office grumbling, the conclusions these scientists seem unwilling to subject to skeptical scrutiny have very real consequences. Based on those conclusions, the president and leaders of Congress aim to push cap and trade legislation that will cost taxpayers billions of dollars, and jeopardizes a host of American businesses.Note to the global-warming crowd: Your agenda is showing
We should insist that any science used to support such legislation is freed from dogmatic taint.
So what we seem to have is distortion of data, suppression of evidence, manipulation of the media, and in general a smoking gun the size of that new nuclear reactor in Iran. It’s almost as though we don’t know what is truth and what is fiction anymore when it comes to global warming science. The end of cap-and-trade - NYPOST.com
Of course, Michael Crichton already knew that. And since he was a lover of science “fiction,” apparently he gets the last laugh.
Global warming e-mails should torpedo ridiculous tax schemeBBC News - Inquiry into stolen climate e-mails

Surprise: Hacked e-mails have revealed that sober, empirical, fact-loving scientists at the heart of global-warming research behave like a crazed group of Delta girls engaged in a flame war to paint the Kappas as a bunch of nasty skanks.
It may not be the biggest scandal since Watergate. But what appeared to be a clear path to massive cap-and-trade legislation just a few months ago now resembles a Jenga tower, and the scandal looks like the tile that will bring the whole thing down.
Scientists will be scrutinising the choice of chair and the terms of reference.Climate change: A heated debate | The Economist
One senior climate scientist told me that the chair would have to be a person accepted by both mainstream climate scientists and sceptics as a highly respected figure without strong connections to either group.
This newspaper believes that global warming is a serious threat, and that the world needs to take steps to try to avert it. That is the job of the politicians. But we do not believe that climate change is a certainty. There are no certainties in science. Prevailing theories must be constantly tested against evidence, and refined, and more evidence collected, and the theories tested again. That is the job of the scientists. When they stop questioning orthodoxy, mankind will have given up the search for truth. The sceptics should not be silenced. Is there any real chance of averting the climate crisis? | Comment is free | The Observer
[James Hansen] Absolutely. It is possible – if we give politicians a cold, hard slap in the face. The fraudulence of the Copenhagen approach – "goals" for emission reductions, "offsets" that render ironclad goals almost meaningless, the ineffectual "cap-and-trade" mechanism – must be exposed. We must rebel against such politics as usual.

[Benny Peiser] In view of what increasingly looks like an unbridgeable stalemate and after years of inflamed global warming alarm, we are beginning to see a period of sobering up, where national interests and economic priorities are overriding environmental concerns and utopian proposals. It seems reasonable to conclude that the diplomatic impasse cannot be overcome in Copenhagen or, indeed, anytime soon. Global CO2 emissions, as a result, will continue to rise inexorably.
