States Consider Own Cap and Trade Plan
Another interesting angle is that this story squarely looks at cap and trade as a revenue option — a tax, in other words. As such, states may be considering the short-term benefit to their coffers without taking into account the long-term economic cost. But, then again, that’s pretty much the M.O. for politicians, isn’t it?

Papers/studies produced by NGOs and GOs will morph from “Climate Change” to “Environmental Stewardship”. There are too many groups and too much money in the system for them to disappear altogether. Global warming will be deemphasized and pollution, cellphone cancers, excessive water use, GMOs, and other man-made ills will be touted. After two years or so, many will have a difficult time recalling that “climate change” was so important.

Yes, if this isn't a case of suppressing opposing views I don't know what one is. And of course, after denying their critics opportunities to publish, these guys then claim that the work is no good because it can't be published.
