Breitbart.tv » Science Czar Grilled at Global Warming Hearing
AP: In the first Capitol Hill airing of the issue, House Republicans Wednesday read excerpts from at least eight of the e-mails, saying they showed the world needs to re-examine experts’ claims that the science on warming is settled. One e-mail from 2003 was by John Holdren, then of Harvard University and now the president’s science adviser.
This Week’s Must Read
“Because after reading the views of the scientists below, no one can argue that the debate is over.”

Today, The Spectator, the UK’s leading political magazine, publishes its blockbuster issue on: ‘Global warming: the truth’ - ”the debate you won’t hear at Copenhagen”. This is a must read edition, so get one at any cost.
Fraser Nelson Global warming: the truth| The Spectator
It normally falls to The Spectator to throw a rock into the pond of complacency. On global warming, we seek to be the still, small voice of calm. As Maurizio Morabito says on page XIII, the truth about global warming is that our understanding of it is in its infancy. Before we tax the poor out of the sky and off the roads, before we slow the world’s economy in a way that will condemn millions to poverty, we should ask just what all this will achieve. Ask precisely where the doubts are. Because after reading the views of the scientists below, no one can argue that the debate is over.
Post-normal science - Melanie Phillips
Global warming, he claimed, was an example of ‘post-normal science’ which did not seek to establish the truth through evidence. Instead, truth had to be traded for influence. In areas of uncertainty, scientists had to present their beliefs instead as a basis for policy.

It was an admission that, in the name of science, scientific reason had been junked altogether to promote mere ideological conviction. That is the real message of ‘Climategate’.
