Climate scientists are in war of influence with skeptics | News-Leader.com | Springfield News-Leader
Mainstream scientists need to recognize that they're in a war of influence with a skeptical business lobby who wants to keep scientific doubt alive to paralyze policy by confusing the public. With the potential consequences of global warming -- melting ice caps, rising sea levels, droughts, wildfires, shifting agricultural patterns, political instability -- I'm siding with the majority of hardworking scientists in outposts far removed [like where, specifically?] from this political infighting.
Climate change/global warming is too important to be politicized
The mess isn't whether global warming is real or a hoax; the mess is in the way we're arguing over it. We have to clean that up before we tackle the climate issue. Get rid of the phony baloneys and let unadulterated experts in the appropriate scientific fields of study grapple with global warming candidly, honestly, factually.
I've heard it suggested that the United States --or someone-- needs to convene a type of transparent Climate Truth Commission.
So… who's got the bright idea as to how we resolve this matter, and resolve it in a period of time consistent with reversing global warming if we have to reverse it, or not exposing people to a danger they need not suffer because the threat doesn't exist. Anyone know the name of a good referee who can handle this for us?

Climategate hits the media. An illustrious career on the BBC and ITV was cut short when Professor Bellamy came out as a global warming heretic.
