Cold weather in northwestern Bangladesh kills 4
DHAKA: Four people died in the last few days in Bangladesh's northwestern Lalmonirhat district, some 343 km from the capital city Dhaka, due to cold weather, China's Xinhua news agency reported, citing a local media as saying on Tuesday.

It said nearly 1.5 million people of the district are passing their days without adequate warm clothes amid the ongoing cold wave with dense fog as they cannot afford to buy warm clothes from the local markets because of higher prices.

BHOPAL: Two tiger cubs have died of cold in the Pench National Park in Madhya Pradesh, an official said

"Severe cold conditions leading to lung congestion proved fatal for both the cubs, aged around one-and-half months", the park's deputy director, AP Tiwari, said. The park is located in southern Madhya Pradesh bordering Maharashtra.

One can only wish the enterprising Dr Pachauri the best of luck in his venture, but it should be recorded that, while the likes of George Monbiot are quick to associate "climate deniers" with Big Oil, no one is actually closer than his all-time hero, Dr R K Pachauri.
