Copenhagen conference: key dates | Environment | guardian.co.uk
Prince Charles will address the summit during the opening ceremony for the second week. He will also meet with global business leaders to lobby for measures to reduce deforestation, including discussing a carbon market. He will not be participating in any formal negotiations.
Charles Krauthammer: The New Socialism
One of the major goals of the Copenhagen climate summit is another NIEO shakedown: the transfer of hundreds of billions from the industrial West to the Third World to save the planet by, for example, planting green industries in the tristes tropiques.

Politically it’s an idea of genius, engaging at once every left-wing erogenous zone: rich man’s guilt, post-colonial guilt, environmental guilt. But the idea of shaking down the industrial democracies in the name of the environment thrives not just in the refined internationalist precincts of Copenhagen. It thrives on the national scale, too.
The Reference Frame: Did the hockey stick ever matter?
Climate alarmist Stephen Schneider wrote an article for the Huffington Post where he argues that the hockey stick graph

* has never been disproved
* was never a basis for AGW likelihood assessments

Holy cow. These people usually rely on the stupidity of the laymen - after all, they are severely limited themselves, or at least they try to be - but I think that if they rely on too huge stupidity of the laymen, their expectations are likely to drag them into trouble.

Wednesday's low temperature of -13 degrees easily broke the record minimum temperature of -6 degrees for Dec. 9, set in 1972; and it could be that other thermometers in the valley and surrounding areas had even colder temperatures than that.

In addition, the low temperature of -7 degrees recorded for Tuesday broke the prior minimum temperature of -4 degrees for Dec. 8, set in 1956.

The Copenhagen Scam - HUMAN EVENTS
The President knows that climate change legislation (cap-and-tax) that passed the House last summer is dead in the Senate. In a breathtaking power play, the President's EPA Administrator declared this week that CO2 was a "pollutant" (never mind that plants would die without CO2) and could be regulated and taxed by the Administration without further legislation from Congress.

With public opinion swinging decisively against the "global warming caused by man" hoax, what power play lurks ahead to back up the President's predicted contribution "pledge" of billions of your dollars at Copenhagen next week ?z
