Dennis Miller on Climate Conference Chaos in Copenhagen - Bill O'Reilly | The O'Reilly Factor - FOXNews.com
O'REILLY: You know, but what I — what amuses me, and I did talk to Hill about this as well, is that they actually want us to send millions of dollars to Zimbabwe to clean up the environment there, like they're going to use it for that. Like Mugabe is going to say, "Hey, yes, yes, yes, send that billion right in here, and we'll put up a windmill." Come on! I mean, who's kidding who here?Forecast for Copenhagen: Cloudy with a Large Chance of Nothing | Cato @ Liberty
MILLER: Well, I think that Gore is starting to become a liability to that cause. The fact that he's like Colonel Kurtz, he's gone up the super heated river now. He won't answer questions. He won't debate. He's starting to look a little — it's starting to look a little creepy. I'll be honest with you, up until this point, I thought he was sort of an amusing doofus, but really, he's starting to look a little bit more like jail gunner Joe McCarthy to me.
Nonetheless there will be a great pronouncement whenever Copenhagen ends. The betting is that the Chinese and the Indians, who have steadfastly refused to agree to reduce their overall emissions, will agree to some vague targets thanks to a bribe courtesy of U.S. taxpayers. Of course, that agreement will be contingent upon them actually getting the loot, which seems pretty unlikely given the upcoming election.Gavin thinks it’s getting old « the Air Vent
So, the more things change, the more they stay the same. The UN is going to announce a breakthrough, world-saving agreement with no real buy-in from the Chinese and Indians and no chance of approval by our Senate.
I’ll tell you what’s getting REALLY old. What’s getting old is our continued requests for the friggin’ data and methods to be done in the open rather than in the back of a room. It’s getting old that ‘real’ papers with correct methods are being blocked because they don’t support the consensus. – That’s what is getting old.Planet AP - Henry Payne - Planet Gore on National Review Online
Global warming may not be the global disaster advertised, but it is causing a massive calving of the Associated Press’s shrinking credibility. Here is AP reporter Seth Borenstein's latest piece of exhaustive reporting (“In the climate-change arena, 350 looms large; That carbon dioxide level is all Earth can take, scientists say,” Dec. 14) from Copenhagen:Climate Costs Would Add to Mounting U.S. Debt - Rep. Jim Sensenbrenner, R-Wis.
The recent scandal known as "climategate" shows that many climate researchers went to great lengths to ensure dire climate forecasts that would seem to necessitate immediate and expensive action. In one e-mail, a climate research describes a "trick" to "hide the decline" in some temperature readings. This sounds more like scientific fascism than the scientific method. This scandal doesn't undercut all climate science, but before President Obama and the Administration commit huge sums of money towards climate change, they should act on my request to investigate the reach and scope of this scandal.Kyoto, Copenhagen, and the Kleptocrats - Chris Horner - Planet Gore on National Review Online
But for now (just as predicted), by signaling that he would come to Copenhagen, President Obama has cornered himself. Politically, he can't now fly off to catcalls and no achievement, so he has by this told the rest of the world that they can hold him — meaning us — up for billions. He would do anything for a deal, and is doing it. The framework has been erected in anticipation of his arrival.
