Sure, it’s possible to install geothermal heat pumps in your home; but the cost of installation and operation will never be recovered in your lifetime, or in the life of your house. You could even pave your backyard with solar panels and save a couple of bucks on your LG&E bill each month; but at under three cents a kilowatt hour, 120/240 juice is pretty cheap here in Louisville. And, ask your neighbors if it’s O.K. for you to put up a giant windmill on your front lawn. We dare you.

Scientists. Without the fear mongering their gravy train of research funds would be diverted to other, real science.
