GROVES: National sovereignty may melt at climate conference - Washington Times
Imagine a team of clipboard-wielding, foreign bureaucrats fanning out across the United States to inspect and report on carbon emissions from American homes and hospitals, farms and factories, schools and power plants. Their reports feed into another batch of international bureaucrats sitting in Geneva, Brussels, or some other European capital. That committee's solemn charge: To pass judgment and slap penalties on the U.S. for any climatic shortcomings.

Climategate: Insight Into the Deleted Data (Wizbang)
When I first heard about the leaked emails of Climategate my initial reaction was that the real revelation wasn't the change in data but the proof of the gaming of the system and the behind the scene politics. But as more analysis is done I think many (including myself) are going to be surprised at just how much smoke and mirrors was involved.

NDP Leader Jack Layton also says there is nothing to see here. Layton, when asked about Jones and Mann tried to make it sound like these were two scientists out denying climate science and should therefore be ignored. When I pointed out that these were two scientists at the centre of climate science having their work questioned, he told me that he has seen permafrost melting.

small dead animals: The Bottle Genie
For perhaps the first time in the history of mass media, the gatekeepers broke a major scandal to an audience fully 10 days ahead of them.

It's a spin doctor's worst nightmare.

As I've been saying from the beginning, they're hearing the sound of all hell breaking loose. And as much as it's being directed at the research institutions and the policy makers following along like so many imprinted penguins, the bulk of public rage has focused on the media.

I don't think my friends in traditional news gathering truly appreciate what it is they've done.
