The media and climate change contrarians (Jonathon Porritt)
...so much of the dissenting stuff does not emanate from scientists of that kind. Much of it is based on speculation, exaggeration and manipulation of other people’s data. It’s never been published in proper journals, never been subjected to proper peer-review, and completely fails to meet any of the basic tests for “sound science”. Much of it lives and breathes through the blogosphere. And almost all of it is arrant nonsense.
Climategate – the reversing of the burden of proof | Brian Micklethwait
Now the default position is slowly mutating into: It's all made-up nonsense. And the burden of proof is shifting onto the shoulders of all those who want to go on believing in such ever more discredited alarmism. In short, our side is winning this argument, big time.
Energy-efficient traffic lights can't melt snow - Yahoo! News
MILWAUKEE – Cities around the country that have installed energy-efficient traffic lights are discovering a hazardous downside: The bulbs don't burn hot enough to melt snow and can become crusted over in a storm — a problem blamed for dozens of accidents and at least one death.

Mr. Lux and an army of about 100 people have been regulars at the U.N.’s two-week climate change conference, passing out vegetarian sandwiches to delegates daily and carrying placards calling livestock farms “an environmental hazard” and to “Go Veg”. (Other high-profile proponents of curbing meet consumption to curb emissions: Rajendra Pachauri, the head of the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, and Beatle Paul McCartney.)

Chaos at climate [hoax] conference - - POLITICO.com
COPENHAGEN — The Copenhagen climate change conference appeared to be imploding from within and exploding from without on Wednesday.

Police fired tear gas, brandished batons and detained more than 200 protesters who tried to push through the security cordon around the Bella Center, as negotiations inside bogged down, for the second time this week, over differences between China and the West over emissions, funding issues and transparency.

“If Dick Cheney can argue that even a 1 percent chance of a terrorist attack is 100 percent justification for pre-emptive action — then surely, when scientists tell us that climate change is nearly a 100 percent certainty, we ought to be able to stand together, all of us, and join in an all-out effort to combat a mortal threat to the life of this planet,” he said.
Live at Copenhagen: Great news - Copenhagen is a disaster » The Foundry
“Collapsing in chaos” is a phrase the media is using to describe the Copenhagen climate conference, and that certainly is the feeling among many here at the Bella Center. Little has gone right, and indeed many registered participants were never even let in. The Danish minister in charge has resigned. Now, those of us who managed to make it in may get turned away for the crucial last two days Thursday and Friday. There are even rumors that President Obama may stay away.
