[More powerful than your cell phone charger?]: Scientists watch deep-sea volcano for first time

Eighty percent of the earth's volcanic activity occurs in the sea, but their underwater locations have complicated scientific efforts to this point.PJTV - PJTV Daily - Chaos in Copenhagen: Violence in the Street at the Climate Conference

"When we got there, we put the sub down and within in an hour and a half we found an eruption there in its full glory," said Resing, who is a chemical oceanographer at the University of Washington. "We haven't seen this before and now for the very first time we see molten lava flowing on the sea floor."
Scientists said the water around the volcano was more acidic than battery acid, but that shrimp and certain microbes were able to thrive in such a harsh environment.

I cannot condone some things that colleagues of mine wrote or requested in the e-mails recently stolen from a climate research unit at a British university. But the messages do not undermine the scientific case that human-caused climate change is real.Obama enters climate change [swindle] fray - KansasCity.com

Scientific evidence for the reality of human-caused climate change includes independently replicated data documenting the extent of warming; unprecedented melting of glaciers; rises in global sea levels; increasingly widespread continental drought; and models that predict all of these things but only when human impacts are included. Those same models project far more profound and potentially damaging impacts of climate change if we do not take action to stabilize greenhouse gas levels.

reflect the temperatures for the past 30 years why are they so certain that they accurately reflect the temps for the previous 800 years, add in the medieval warming period, urban heat sinks, and the reluctance to open the data up for skeptical review leaves me confused. I may be a simple farm boy but I know you can't milk a bull no matter what you call it. Maybe we should take a better look before the un makes the working classes of the world try to milk it.
Not only was it unclear as Obama set off what the conference would produce, it wasn’t certain how the president would spend his approximately nine hours there Friday. Much of his time was purposely left fluid, and his brief remarks to the assembly were barely in draft stage before he departed.A global warming deal in Copenhagen--one more such victory and we are undone
The next time any alarmist tries to claim the moral high ground in the climate debate, I will throw Mugabe's name in his face with all the disgust I can muster.Skeptic's Corner: Russia for journalism?: YouTube: Climategate: UK Met Office Manipulated Russia...
Any deal that requires the bribery of Robert Mugabe is not worth having. It is, however, a fitting conclusion to the farce that is Copenhagen.
Shame. Shame on you all.
