Poll: Only 41% of Albertans believe in human-caused global warming

The results suggest many Albertans remain skeptical when it comes to the science of global warming. The survey found 31% of respondents agree global warming "is a theory that has not yet been proven." According to a separate poll done this month, 17% of Canadians believe climate change is an unproven theory.

Still, the new survey found a majority of Albertans believe in global warming, with 41% attributing it to emissions from vehicles and industrial facilities. Nineteen per cent of respondents believe it is mostly caused by natural changes. The online survey, conducted Dec. 17-18, was conducted in the final days of the Copenhagen summit.
