NATIONAL leaders will this week launch the greatest slush fund the world has ever seen - and Prime Minister Kevin Rudd will be adding your money to the pile.Cloud Feedback Presentation for Fall 2009 AGU Meeting « Roy Spencer, Ph. D.
Some naive folk, who probably still don't understand that governments do not, in fact, make money of their own but merely take what has been earned by others and redistribute it to causes they think will win them the most votes, may believe that the wealth redistribution will actually lower the temperature of the planet.

Regardless of the system that EPA and CARB come up with to restrict carbon emissions, businesses will figure out how to game the systems to their advantage, often at great cost to their customers and employees, but not the company stock holders. Here is an example of how the EU Carbon Credits are being gamed, yet the impact on the environment is zero. We can expect similar gaming once the CARB and the EPA has established their top down carbon trading rules. A national cap and trade program will not improve the situation.
